Imodium is a pill used to treat sudden diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea and diarrhea that lasts. It reduces bowel movements and makes stools less watery. It treats the symptoms of diarrhea, but not the cause (infection). It is effective two hours after taking the capsules.
